SEA Bursary and Grants Scheme
IBTC Lowestoft in partnership with National Historic Ships UK has launched the Coastal Communities Funded ‘SEA Grants Scheme’. The scheme is legacy of the Shipshape East Anglia project and is made of two parts:
The Bursary Scheme consists of two bursary placements covering the full cost of a 47 – week long boat building course at IBTC.
The application is open to all the people aged 18 – 25 living in Lowestoft and surroundings (postcodes NR32 and NR 33).
The Short Courses Scheme provides a total of £ 10,000 to cover the full cost of 30 short courses in specialist skills. The training sessions are available for people of all ages who own, work or volunteer with a NHS UK registered vessel or a business part of the Shipshape Network.
The SEA Grants Scheme aims to stimulate the whole maritime sector: creating new opportunities for young people, supporting anyone who is looking for growing technical knowledge and helping Lowestoft to become a focal point in the UK maritime field.
All the courses will be held at IBTC Ltd, Oulton Broad North, Lowestoft.
The deadline to apply for the Bursary Scheme is Friday the 17th of March, with the course starting on Monday the 3rd of April.
The Short Courses Scheme funding is available throughout 2017.
